INTERNS & VOLUNTEERS
Schedule
WORI offers opportunities to join the team throughout the year. Interns work full time, 35 hours a week. Regular office hours are 9:30-16:30 but may vary depending on the nature of the work. Interns will have the opportunity to visit the field and see first-hand the impact their work has. All who are interested are encouraged to apply.
Salary & Fees
WORI is not able to provide financial support to our interns. Although the economic situation is improving, Uganda is still part of the 25th poorest countries of the world. All of our activities and programs have been developed through fundraising. WORI requires new staff to contribute a certain amount of money depending on the intended period of stay which includes:
Application fees
Monthly program fees
Host-home stay
Airport Pickup (Jinja is about 3 hours from Entebbe Airport)
Housing
1. Live with a host family
2. Book a hotel or a rented house
If you are a young student and/or if it is your first time in Africa, it might we advise you stay with a host family to understand the culture of the country.
If you are staying for a long time it is possible to split the time between the two if you so wish.
